Prema is a family friendly Arts Centre, promoting performance, live music and art exhibitions as well as accessible workshops, classes and creative experiences for kids and adults.
Prema, near Dursley in the Stroud valleys, offers an affordable day out for all folk in the South West.
Rupert Russell, as yet, has shirked the opportunity to visit other worlds but if he did find the courage to explore the stars the first thing he'd pack would be his camera (closely followed by a comfortable pair of shoes!).
For the time being though he's more that happy to take pictures of his immediate universe: He sees humour and love, change and decay, beauty and pain – a brand he imagines as “quirky beauty”.
The product of a model mum and advertising dad, his relationship with the camera was always one of comfortable familiarity. After a stuttering career as an actor/model, beside and in front of the camera, he decided to get the behind the lens in 2007.
His self-branded erratic style is testament to the fact that he's entirely self taught and yet over recent years Rupert has inspired so many to get the very best out of their camera through a range of introductory and intermediate photography courses here at Prema.
This debut exhibition is an opportunity to enjoy significant moments of his photographic journey and features landscapes and portraits, pictorial and documentary.
