A Day of Weaving
Fri 14 June 10am - 4pm

Enjoy a mindful and richly rewarding day of working in “slow textiles” with the ever-brilliant textile artist Rebecca Connolly.
As you learn the key skills of weaving, design and use of colour in weave, you’ll create a handful of pieces of woven fabric; the outcome being an experimental sampler, some ‘conventional’ cloth or a decorative hanging to adorn your home.
Following a brief demonstration of weave technique basics, you’ll get weaving straight away, each participant working on their own body-tensioned loom (already setup and ready to go). These easy-to-use looms cleverly create the opening (called the shed) for the weft thread to be passed through, so your weaving should grow a quite a pace.
Suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with some weaving experience, who will be challenged with new or more advanced techniques. We are confident you’ll love weaving and be amazed at how proficient you are in such a short time!
