The Harcourt Players are Simon Othen and Luke Wurmli. They write and perform their own, contemporary score for classic silent movies from the early 1900s. With you, the audience focusing on a brilliant and captivating portfolio of films from Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin our musicians are weaving a wonder of sounds, incorporating a variety of musical styles and influences.
A soundtrack can fortify a love scene or add tension to a chase, make the jocular just that bit more hilarious and tonight's live music is performed using a plethora of instruments including guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonicas and a variety of percussion as well as a sampler.
The films offered tonight are Chaplin's 'The Professor' and 'Pay Day' with Buster Keaton's 'The Goat' and some cartoon goodness from Koko the Clown. A nostalgic yet contemporary night out and very suitable for audiences of all ages. Go on, it'll be a right treat for the start of half-term!
