Make A Summer Dress in a Day
Sat 25 June 10am - 4pm
£65/£62(c) • Friends £63/£60(c)
Spend this summer Saturday working with costume designer Fran Kellett to create a basic shift dress with no zip, buttons or sleeves.
In today’s session, Fran will be helping you to understand working from a pattern, demystifying the various symbols and terminology. In next to no time you’ll be sewing darts and finishing edges with facing to create the most splendid, understated shift dress which is sure to be an essential item this summer and beyond!
Today’s workshop is ideal for those wanting to take their basic knowledge a bit further. You will need to know your way around a sewing machine and have made simple projects like a tote bag or cushions before.
We will be providing:
Patterns, fabric and threads.
Patterns come in sizes 10-16 but other sizes are available on advance request.
If you prefer you’re welcome to bring your own fabric. You will need 2m of linen or a cotton-linen mix
You will need to bring:
Sewing kit (pins, fabric scissors, ruler, pencil, chalk)
Sewing machine and cable (if you have one)
