After a few years away, we’re thrilled to welcome back Cath Hodsman to our programme in a splendid Saturday workshop, which is just the ticket for both lovers of painting and entomology, with appeal for keen lepidoperists and those with a particular enthusiasm for butterflies.

This absorbing and highly enjoyable event will give participants the chance to study different types of butterflies in a way that they have never been able to before.

Each student will have the use of high-powered microscopes to study the anatomical beauty and exquisite form of these delicate creatures.

Cath and students will discuss how butterflies taste their food, how they eat their food, how they create those beautiful patterns on their wings, how they protect themselves against predators and to generally, pay homage to these fascinating and iconic insects.

Materials provided but if you have a favourite set of watercolours and/or water-soluble pencils you’re very welcome to bring them along.
