You will start by exploring the vibrant colours of art glass. With plenty of advice and encouragement, you will then develop your own simple design, or use one from Sarah’s collection. You will be taught how to cut glass, in colours of your choice, and to join it using copper foil and soldering techniques to create a colourful hanging decoration.

Our monthly sketching sessions are about experiment and exploration, making a mark and bringing along a can-do approach to drawing. As always, the ever-brilliant Rosie-Marie Marshall-Jane leads our morning’s session, allowing you to work at your own pace with generous support and gentle encouragement.

For July, we’re heading down to the comparative lowlands at Slimbridge. The village of Slimbridge meanders its way down towards the Severn estuary, crossing the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal on the way. This morning, we’ll be dismounting our horses at the bridge and wandering along the towpath, using the long stretches of waterway to help us explore perspective drawing as well as featuring the barges and boats we meet along the way.
