Ceramic artist Hannah Turner started her business in 1991 after a sell-out degree show at Bristol University (Bower Ashton). Her degree show was inspired by taxidermy and how we display animals as trophies aroud the home – from this body of work the hot favourite was her remarkable cacophony of crows. She took orders to make more of this design and found a local studio and from there the business began! Humour has always been evident in her work, and probably helped her ride the storm of 2 recessions! In 1999 Hannah took a break to start her family, returning a few years later to create her playful ceramic characters. She started using slip-casting as a way of creating multiples of her designs, allowing her to focus on the decoration. In 2011 Hannah joined forces with a Sri Lankan company to launch her first ranges of tableware and in 2016 added kitchen textiles to her range. Hannah works from her garden studio workshop in Bristol, and her hardest job at present is keeping up with all of her blossoming new ideas!
