Fused Glass Washing Line
£75/£72(c) • Friends £73/£70(c)
We’re delighted to welcome a new fused-glass artist to our roster of workshop leaders. Caroline Lambert provides the inspiration and technical know-how for our fun-foray into glass fusing to create a washing-line of clothes using kiln-formed glass. This remarkable process involves cutting and layering coloured glass, along with a myriad of inclusions and accessories, which are then heated in the kiln to fuse them together.
With plenty of easy-to-follow guidance, practical demonstrations, samples and patterns, Caroline guides you through the entire process. During today’s workshop, you’ll make at least 4 items for your washing line, and the finished work will be fired and ready for collection a few days later. Suitable for all levels of experience.

Sketch Out at Breakheart Quarry
£8 • Friends £6
For the month of April, we’re heading up to the very top of the hill, to the beautiful yet bleak, unforgiving landscape of Breakheart Quarry (atop Stinchcombe Hill).
Following its rich and explosive past, the quarry is now a brilliant community project which focuses on learning, leisure and countryside education. And today, it serves as an uncharacteristic Gloucestershire landscape for us to explore and sketch. Huge skies with dramatic undulations to draw, plenty of perspective to play with and an abundance of natural light. And by just crossing the lane, we can venture into the spectacular woodland, following the paths through the sculpture trails. Oodles of drawing interest and inspo for your sketches!
Our Sketch Out sessions are led by artist Rose-Marie Marsall-Jane, a talented, enthusiastic artist and dedicated sketcher who is keen to impart tips and techniques to help you brush-up your drawing and observational skills. Suitable for all levels of drawing experience.
