The Nectar Project - moths & pollinators

Free entry

Come join us for Prema’s second free eco-science & arts event. Today we’re all about moths and pollinators - we’ll be learning all about how these amazing insects and bugs move pollen from plant to plant.

Get up-close to moths and butterflies to discover how you can attract them into your own garden and help them to thrive.

Our eco-scientists are joined by a handful of brilliantly imaginative and inventive artists, helping you to explore exciting drawing projects and to create awesome artworks using our new printing presses. And while you’re with us, why not create a brilliant badge as a memento of the day.

It’s entirely free to attend and no need to book - just turn up! The event is supported by an investment from the University of the West of England.

Our monthly sketching sessions are about experiment and exploration, making a mark and bringing along a can-do approach to drawing. As always, the ever-brilliant Rosie-Marie MJ leads our morning’s session, allowing you to work at your own pace with generous support and gentle encouragement.

For July, we’re heading down to the comparative lowlands at Slimbridge. The village of Slimbridge meanders its way down towards the Severn estuary, crossing the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal on the way. This morning, we’ll be dismounting our horses at the bridge and wandering along the towpath, using the long stretches of waterway to help us explore perspective drawing as well as featuring the barges and boats we meet along the way.
